Weekly Bible Studies
Men's Bible Study
Men of all ages meet every Monday night at 7-8:30 in room CLC-054.
The group is currently making its way through the Gospel of Matthew. The evening begins with a time of sharing and prayer before digging into the scripture selection for the week.
This group finds study and fellowship a fulfillment for their busy lives as they study the Word of God and relate it to everyday living.
Led by Ken Knox & Clayton Easter.
Sunday Night Bible Study
Made to Crave is the missing link between a woman's desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen. The reality is we were made to crave. Craving isn't a bad thing. But we must realize God created us to crave more of him. Many of us have misplaced that craving by overindulging in physical pleasures instead of lasting spiritual satisfaction. If you are struggling with unhealthy eating habits, you can break the "I'll start again Monday" cycle, and start feeling good about yourself today. You can reach your healthy weight goal - and grow closer to God in the process. This is not a how-to book. This is not the latest and greatest dieting plan. This is a book and Bible study to help you find the "want to" in making healthy lifestyle choices. It is a great companion for you to use alongside whatever healthy lifestyle plan you choose. Facilitated by Amy Turner on Sunday evenings 5:30-6:30 beginning January 7. Please register by December 17 either online or through the church office. Participants’ book is $12.50; Made to Crave 60 Day Devotional is $9.50; both books are $22. Indicate if you want the participant book or both books when you register.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study
All are welcome to gather Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am with Pastor Michelle for Bible study and fellowship in the office area room O-17.
The Tuesday Morning Bible study will explore Converge Bible Study: Perplexing Scriptures beginning May 8. There are certain texts that come up frequently in worship or in the youth room or in the children's Sunday school wing. And there are certain texts that we never read in worship or Sunday school. This study examines some of these passages. This 4-week study may raise more questions than it answers; but as we work through each session, we will begin to see how God’s love and grace are at work, even in the most troubling texts. Book is $7. Books need to be ordered by April 23 so let Pastor Michelle or the church office know ASAP if you want a book.
June 5 & 12 no Tuesday Morning Bible Study due to Annual Conference & VBS.
June 19 & 26 Book Discussion: Everything Happens for A Reason by Kate Bowler Let Pastor Michelle or the church office know by May 16 if you want Michelle to order the book, $17 through Cokesbury. It’s available for $12.99 on Kindle
