Weekly Bible Studies
Men's Bible Study
Men of all ages meet every Monday night at 7-8:30 in room CLC-054.
The group is currently making its way through the Gospel of Matthew. The evening begins with a time of sharing and prayer before digging into the scripture selection for the week.
This group finds study and fellowship a fulfillment for their busy lives as they study the Word of God and relate it to everyday living.
Led by Ken Knox & Clayton Easter.

June 19 & 26: We will discuss the passionate, unforgettable memoir Everything Happens for a Reason and Other Lies I’ve Loved by Kate Bowler, a professor at Duke Divinity School. At thirty-five, she is thriving in her job, married to her high school sweetheart, and loves life with her newborn son. Then she is diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. Kate is stripped of certainty only to discover that without it, life is hard but beautiful in a way she never imagined. Frank and funny, dark and wise Kate pulls the reader deeply into her life offering up her irreverent, hard-won observations on dying and the ways in has taught her to live. It is available online and Kindle and Nook.
We will begin discussing The Gospel of Ruth: Loving God Enough to Break the Rules by Carolyn Custis James on July 3. Even if you can’t be there each week, read along and join the conversation when you’re in town. I’ll share a schedule at the end of June. This isn’t the Ruth, Naomi, or Boaz we know and love. James explores deeper into the story where she uncovers in the Old Testament the same passionate, counter-cultural, rule-breaking gospel that Jesus modeled and taught his followers to pursue. Within this age-old story is a map to radical levels of love and sacrifice, combined with the message that God is counting on his daughters to build his kingdom. The Gospel of Ruth vests every woman's life with kingdom purposes and frees us to embrace wholeheartedly God's calling, regardless of our circumstances or season of life. Books are $10. Please sign-up online or email Pastor Michelle by June 12 for us to order you a book. It is also available through online retailers and for Kindle and Nook.
