Dear Parents,
We have had an overwhelming positive response in regards to starting a 4th and 5th grade fellowship! It is exciting to see the interest in a new older children’s fellowship group.
Sunday afternoons seem to be the best meeting time. Although a few families would prefer we meet only once a month, most of you who responded to the survey, would prefer a twice a month meeting schedule. Therefore we will be meeting at 5:30, twice a month during March April and May. Our first meeting will be March 14th at 5:30. We will start the evening with a pizza supper.
There will be a brief parent’s meeting March 14that 5:00 (just before the 1st Fellowship meeting). The purpose of this meeting is to: introduce the program, schedule and leadership; talk about snack suppers; brainstorm about the summer and; answer any questions you may have about the fellowship group.
Our leadership for the fellowship includes Karen Becker, Jamison Temples and myself. We are still looking for a few more adults to work with this group. If you are interested in helping, please let me know.
We have not named the fellowship group yet. We are going to let our 4th and 5th graders help name the fellowship. Next week I will send you child(ren) an invitation to the first meeting and a request for their help with naming the group.
Below you will find a copy of the March-May Schedule. You will notice that although we are meeting twice a month, we were unable to create an “every –other- week” schedule. We were trying to work around the school schedule and special days like Mother’s Day.
