On Thanksgiving Day at 12:00 Noon, our church hosts a Thanksgiving Day dinner for SUMC members, especially if they have no family with whom to celebrate on Thanksgiving Day, and we invite some neighbors who are homeless from the Greenville area. The church provides the meat and beverage and attendees are asked to bring a covered dish (side and dessert).
This is a wonderful opportunity to share with our neighbors just how much God has blessed all of us.
Clothes are collected a few months before this date. Items needed are: men’s and women’s warm winter coats; new sweatshirts; new gloves and hats; and men’s shoes, especially large sizes. These clothes are then made available to persons who attend the meal.
